With 50,000 donations, Humans of New York fundraiser sets Indiegogo record

When Humans of New York blogger Brandon Stanton first set out to raise money for a Brooklyn middle school in need, the goal was simple: the school needed $100,000 to send three classes of kids to visit the Harvard campus.

Now, with over $1.4 million raised, the students of Mott Hall Bridges Academy have a new scholarship fund, a summer activities program and yearly field trips to Harvard. At 50,000 donations and counting, the campaign broke Indiegogo's record for most contributions to a single campaign on Tuesday, according to the company.
